BHSEC MUN Out Here Dominating

Remember when the closed-room policy was at its peak and people were saying “#EarlyCollegeNotHighSchool”? Yeah, well the Model United Nations took that to heart.

On Friday, March 6th, the MUN team signed up to participate in a conference for high schools at Brown University. As they hopped on the bus to Providence, the team (accompanied by one Prof. Rockenbach) was already going over how they were going to absolutely steamroll their fellow high schoolers in the competition. Unfortunately, they discovered why you must always read the fine print. What they thought was a conference for high schools, ended up being a conference for COLLEGES, oh what horror!! BHSEC was caught completely off guard; they had just been bamboozled, led astray, deceived. Grinnell College giggled at them, Columbia cackled at them, Buffalo State was there too. The University of Pennsylvania came up to them and said out loud “fresh meat today boys”, and the whole conference hall became deafening with uproarious laughter. Oh, pray to the deities that BHSEC comes out unscathed…

My dear readers (all seven of you), the MUN team took this as a challenge.

Prof. Rockenbach, not one to be easily deterred, huddled the kids together and hatched a plan. “We’re in a bit a squeeze here guys, but here’s what we’re gonna do”, she stated confidently. “We’re gonna run a FB West Right Slot 372 Y Stick”, and all MUN heads nodded in approval, because they all knew exactly what she meant… definitely. They stepped up to the podium, adjusted the mic, and went to work. The prestigious Ivy League Schools fired tough questions at them, so tough that I don’t even remember it, but it was all for naught; the BHSEC MUN didn’t play around, they answered the questions with ease. The speeches that were given left the room stunned, and the various universities had no choice but to give them at least some positive recognition. As BHSEC left, UPenn asked how they did it, and they answered: “#EarlyCollegeNotHighSchool”. Everyone just fainted right then and there.
