The Bardvark

About The Bardvark

As Bard High School Early College Manhattan’s award-winning newspaper, the Bardvark has long been an outlet for students to channel and develop their journalistic voices. Founded in 2003, just two years after the start of BHSEC, the Bardvark has become a fixture of the school.

All students are encouraged to try out their hand in writing for the Bardvark. We welcome all submissions and our excellent editors will guide you along the way. We meet on the first Wednesday of each month to discuss the next issue, which is published on the last Wednesday of each month.

Our lovely mascot is an aardvark dressed in the style of BHSEC’s founding principle, Ray Peterson. If you are so lucky, you might even meet the real life Bardvark at a BHSEC event near you!
